Where We Fishing

Flamingo Area
The Flamingo Bay Area is located on the northwest part of Costa Rica, in the Guanacaste province. Driving time from San José (the capital city) is approximately 4 ½ to 5 hours on the Pan-American highway.

Flying time from San José is 45 minutes. The closest airstrip to Flamingo is the airstrip in Tamarindo; it then takes 20 minutes by car to get to Flamingo. Scheduled flights and private charters are also available.
Prime Time
For many years the best time to fish out of Flamingo has been June thru August. September and October are really good months for yellow fin tunas on the 200+ pounds, with a good chance for sails and marlins as well.

Inshore Fishing
The Flamingo Bay Area is also well known for excellent light tackle fishing during all these months.

Rooster fish, Spanish mackerel, barracuda, snappers, groupers, Amberjack, wahoo and many more species can be found around the "Catalinas" and "Bat Islands."

Non-fishing activities in Flamingo include:
Canopy tour  •  Horse back riding • 4x4 ATV • Palo Verde Wildlife Refuge • Arenal Volcano • White water rafting • Miravalles Volcano and mud spa

Quepos Area
Quepos, located in the mid-Pacific zone of our country, offers you the exciting combination of excellent fishing and lush green vegetation all year round.
Quepos is about a 3 to 4 ½ hour drive from San José.
Prime Time
We consider the second half of December through the end of April to be the best time for sailfish and blue-striped marlin.
Quepos is the ideal place for fly fishing!

Non-fishing activities in Quepos include:
Canopy tour  •  Rain Maker  •  4x4 ATV  •  The Manuel Antonio National Park  •  Horse back riding  •  White water rafting

Los Sueños
Fishing out of Los Sueños Marina is good all year round and is one of the best spots on the central Pacific coast of Costa Rica near Jaco Beach.

Sailfish and Marlin are the main attraction at Los Sueños, but inshore fishing can be really good for catching Roosterfish, snappers and mackerels as well!

Additionally, anglers can mix up their fishing with a few days of golfing. ( BOATS )
